A novel sweet-and-spicy take on sugar cookies.

The Instagram algorithm finally got to me, and I got spammed enough times with the NYT recipe for this that I had to try it. I’m a big fan of using gochujang in cooking (stir frys, marinades, etc.), and the idea of a dessert that incorporated it intrigued me.
The end result was certainly “novel” with a chewy sweet cookie that packed a bit of heat when you found an iconic red swirl.
